Who We Are St. Mary's Chrisitan Counseling, Inc.
St. Mary's Christian Counseling is a healing ministry that offers "biblical counseling" to those struggling with marital problems, anxiety, depression, anger, addictions, relationship difficulties, and spiritual bondage.
What We Do and Do Not Offer
We do not offer secular psychotherapy services and therefore do not operate under the licensure of the state. Instead, we offer "biblical counseling" services based on our belief that healing occurs through the presence of Holy Spirit and that the Bible can and does address all problems of living. Our Priority
As a ministry, our focus is on spiritual healing and sanctification. We recognize that many of our Christian religious institutions are referring their struggling lay people to secular institutions to receive secular psychotherapy. We believe secular psychotherapy fails to recognize the healing power of the Holy Spirit and the Word. Consequently, we offer an alternative for those who desire it.
Our Leadership
Our CEO, founder, and biblical couselor, Ty Weckerly, MA, majored in theology and psychology at the University of Notre Dame and recieved his Master's Degree in the Counseling Psychology PhD program at Texas Tech University. Ty recognized during his training at TTU that for Christians and others, secular psychotherapy falls short of the healing potential that occurs through the Holy Spirit. It is Ty's belief that a simple faith based Christian approach to counseling is far superior than the most sophisticated secular methods used today (many of which he has studied extensively throughout his training). Ty established St. Mary's Christian Counseling as an additional place where Christians and others can go for Christian healing!
